Edge of Dark Water by Joe R. Lansdale

Edge of Dark Water by Joe R. Lansdale

Do you truly know your friends and family as well as you think?

Trying to break out of poverty and distress in a depressing small town three friends come up with a plan.  Not a well thought out plan but one that with some ill-gotten gains can move them from sadness to freedom while doing another friend a favor.

Sue Ellen, Terry, and Jinx start off on the wrong foot and things keep getting worse.  As the trio start their journey it becomes less about moving toward freedom so much as running for it.  The excitement of escape is clouded by the mystery of secrets kept too long for all the wrong reasons and the addition of a person no one thought would ever join them.

They all stick together and forge rivers, valleys, and way too much turbulence for one uncomplicated trip.  However, despite the roadblocks and crazy turns of fate determination is going to keep them on the right path regardless of who is trying to block it.

The reader takes a journey that will cover every emotion possible and this showcases great writing on every page.

  8. What a thought provoking question! I think we don't know family and friends completely especially when faced with temptation. This book sounds good.
