RECIPE FOR TREASON by Andrea Penrose

RECIPE FOR TREASON by Andrea Penrose
A Lady Arianna Regency Mystery

The life and interesting times of Arianna and her husband Saybrook continue with the latest plot to over throw humanity and all things every person holds sacred.

Arianna and Saybrook are the 1814 version of Nick and Nora sleuthing about the countryside together as equal partners in the hunt for answers.  They cannot seem to avoid trouble, and murders always abound whenever they start to investigate a case.  The one they are handling now involves the continued search for a traitor and ruthless nemesis that seems to know their every move before they even take a step.  When a person is so devious to keep eluding his pursuers everyone questions who this mastermind is, could it perhaps be someone they know?

The duo along with their friend Henning go to Scotland trying to stir the pot and then when it boils over the problems really start showing their evil faces.  Arianna and Saybrook are the perfect pairing of wit and talent even though Arianna seems to draw trouble where none should be available.  She is a brilliant strategist but keeping her safe from harm has Saybrook refocusing on the importance of love over duty.

When the plot begins to come itself, the danger to everyone terrifies even the strongest of battle weary men.  Using one’s brilliant mind for evil becomes a test of strength and who can the muster to make it to the end.

Andrea Penrose composes the perfect combination of character interaction with mystery.  Every page flows to the next and every word plays a significant role without skipping a beat and blending prior books with a flawless expertise.  Fabulous!
