REVIEW from Mary Gramlich "The Reading Reviewer"
IF THE
SLIPPER FITS
by Olivia Drake
Even
if the slipper fits, will it make my dreams come true?
Having
known the life at the bottom of the social ladder Annabelle Quinn finds her
escape and grabs it. Annabelle has lived
shackled by her illegitimacy so having the opportunity to become the governess
to a titled child is the road to freedom and all too soon the only lesson this child
needs is the one Annabelle can provide, love.
The problem however is his uncle Lord Simon Westbury who wants nothing
to do with her or his nephew despite being his guardian. It was a devastating turn of events that led
to the woman he loved marrying his brother and leaving him to care for their
child.
Annabelle
wins over everyone and shines the sun on Simon’s ice-cold heart. There are nights of passion and stolen kisses
between them but days where the distance is greater than being divided by a
room. Fear of relationship failure keeps
Simon illusive and distant to a woman with an open heart and a loving
nature. Annabelle is more than capable
of caring for everyone when given the opportunity and love just one man if he
could trust her.
There
is evil lurking in the woods and someone’s life is in peril but as soon as one
mystery is solved another presents itself.
Too many clues leading in the wrong direction providing few answers to
explain what is going on.
When
Olivia Drake writes everyone should be reading and experiencing the magic of wonderful
historical romances.

My favorite fairy tale is Sleeping Beauty.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Beauty and the Beast.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Beauty and the Beast.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July holiday to you and your family!
I've always enjoyed Peter Pan!
ReplyDeleteI have to go with Beauty and the Beast. But also another one not as widely known is The Seven Swans - has a bittersweet ending.
ReplyDeleteI like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Ella has such a loving nature. Also, I like stories where the hero is complex and may take some time to get to know, but deep down, underneath his beastly interior he has a big heart.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July. "Beauty and the Beast" is my favorite, but I discovered that I also loved "Rapunzel" after I saw "Tangled."
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast.
ReplyDeleteCinderella, but Drew Barrymore's version in Ever After.
ReplyDeleteBarbara
Evil lurking in the woods? Sounds like Snow White!
ReplyDeleteDorothy
I love Beauty and the Beast. Happy 4th.
ReplyDeleteCinderella
ReplyDeleteMy favourite fairy tale has always been Cinderella :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fairy tale too is Beauty and The Beast. There's nothing I enjoy reading about more than a flawed hero.
ReplyDeleteI love this review Mary, and would love to read "If The Slipper Fits".
I am a huge Cinderella fan. When I was little I always wanted my Prince Charming. I did kiss some frogs before, but finally found him. I love that she over came all odds and got her prince in the end. This book looks great. This is a new author for me. I love to read and always looking for new authors to read. Thanks for the giveaway.

Three Billy Goats Gruf is my favorite fairy tale isn't the usual one but instead one I always found to be funny! It has ended up being one of my sons and grand childrens favorites as well!
ReplyDeleteMary, I love Olivia's books and "found" her back in 2010 when her great trilogy, An Heiress in London, was released. My favorite was the middle book Never Trust A Rogue! Not only was the story wonderful but I loved the cover!
I didn't have the chance to read If The Slipper Fits when it was released in May and would love to read it! I do so love "gently used books"! The best thing is that already "broken" in and all ready to be read!
Thanks for a great post! I've been reading great reviews for this book and I'd love a chance to read it too!
ReplyDeleteI love Beauty and the Beast and The little Mermaid :)
I've always loved BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. I've read a few books inspired by this tale & loved them too.
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast. I remember playing Mrs. Potts with my childhood friends, singing my heart out. And Belle and I have something in common, we love books.
ReplyDeletecinderella and sleeping beauty
ReplyDeleteLike lots of people, I love Beauty and the Beast too. I also like The Hunchback of Notre Dame. As you can tell, I feel sorry for these poor souls who aren't "perfect".
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast is my favorite.
