Lisa Verge Higgins writes about best friends. From ONE GOOD FRIEND DESERVES ANOTHER,
HOW MANY OF THESE DATING RULES HAVE YOU BROKEN?
1. Choose Your Own Man
2. Make Sure Your Friends Approve
3. No One-Night Stands
4. Trust Your Instincts
5. Never Make the Same Mistake Twice
6. After a Break-Up, Wait Six Months Before Dating Again.
Dhara, Kelly, Marta, and Wendy have been the closest of friends since college. So close, that after a series of romantic disasters, they bond together to create Rules of Relationships to keep their hearts safe.
Years later, the rules seem to have worked . . . until Marta discovers that her hot boyfriend is married, Kelly begins a risky love affair, Wendy inches closer to a pre-marital infidelity, and, most shocking of all, Indian-American Dhara suddenly agrees to an arranged marriage.
Hearts are about to be broken and the bonds of friendship are tested. Is it possible to find true love, when you're breaking all the rules?

| I have three special friends here in Hawaii - Renee, Nadja, and Ivy! |

My special friend makes me laugh, listens patiently while I vent & looks after me when I am ill. Everyone should have such a good friend.
ReplyDeleteMy special friend's name is Barb -- I meet her the first day of high school and have been friends since. I know I can always lean on her and she can lean on me.
ReplyDeleteI met my best friend on my first day of high school. She now lives in England and I live in Canada but we still keep in touch! Although not as often as we like, we kept up-to-date with each other...
ReplyDeleteI met my friend when my daughters were in girls scouts together and then we both happened to join the same women's group so it's been about 15 years.
ReplyDeleteHello to you and your friends, Kim!
ReplyDeleteOne of my special friend is someone I've known since the 8th Grade. We sort of grew up together, from awkward teen to young women. We're going through a lot of the same things in life so it's great to share advice and commiserate together. I hope there are many years of friendship for us.
I have a special friend of 35 years. She is always there for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great post and giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 friends that I've known for over a decade and we've been through good and bad times, never wavering. These are the friends that I see myself growing old with :)
I have a very special friend that I haven't seen in over 20 years, but we are in touch through cards and letters and email very frequently. And I have a couple of other very special friends that I've known for about 10 years and are the kind who are there when you need them (and vice versa). I'm also fortunate to have some friends that I met on-line, have never met face to face, but are pretty special none-the-less. And, who knows? Maybe I'll get to see them one day!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I've always been a loner... :( I don't think that it's been by choice. I was always a little different from everyone else. That's it. I was a member of the out crowd. I didn't listen to the right music, I didn't wear the right clothes. No one ever heard me talk. When I was probably around 13 or 14, I joined this fanclub of a rock band. I met this girl and it was instant friendship. We lived in different time zones, over 1,800 miles away from each other but she was my best friend. Crazier, we even traveled to see each other a couple of times. Unfortunately, we lost contact for about 10 years. But thanks for Facebook, we found each other.
ReplyDeleteI've always been the same, for the most part. I've broken the relationship rules a couple of times, when I forgot that it was more important to be true to myself then to be with someone who wasn't worthy.
Topics like this makes me emotional. Have lots of friends but my younger sister is the one I consider my most special friend. I'm 7 years older than her. She has seen me in my worst days specially every time I have asthma attacks. Cries when she sees me suffering and laughs when I commit mistakes. She's the one working right now, and she's the one sending me to school when it should have been me. I love her for that and more. :D
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite people of all is my friend from kindergarten. We started our friendship way back when and it still remains strong to this day. Been through so much together over the decades. I'm so lucky to have her in my life.
ReplyDeleteI think I have broke all of them, except the friend rule. My friends have always lliked my boyfriends. I have did a coupled of one nighters. I also haved jumped into another relationship very quickly(always a mistake). Thanks for the great giveaway. This book looks great, love the cover.

I have a very special friend that I've know since I was four years old. We keep in touch through emails, and even though we might not see each other for years on end, (being as how she lives in England) when we do meet up, it's like we just saw each other the day before.
ReplyDeleteShe's always there for everyone.
