US Army's Birthday, US Flag Day, and Sara Humphrey's 4th Annual Military Families Contest

On this date in 1775, the Continental Congress established the Continental Army, marking the birth of the United States Army.   Two years later, in 1777, the US Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the country's flag.   Hau`oli Lā Hānau (Happy Birthday) to the US Army and Old Glory!

Chris, David, and Andrew

To celebrate, my family finally took a picture for Sara Humphreys' 4th Annual U.S. Military Families Contest.

Open for Entries!

For the past couple of years, as a special thank you to our service members and their families, I have held a contest just for them. It turned out to be an incredibly rewarding experience. I had the privilege of meeting several incredible women and their beautiful families. It's so easy to forget that there are real people who are deeply affected by the conflicts overseas. Hearing the personal stories of these families helped me remember that our troops are husbands, fathers, brothers and sons who are immensely loved and sorely missed.

This contest will run from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend but start sending those entries in now!

Who is eligible? Families of any U.S. military service member may enter. Retired or active-duty.

How do you enter? Send an email to info@novelromance.net with a picture of you and your family member in uniform. Tell us a bit about what branch he serves in, where you've been stationed, challenges and so forth. We want to hear your story! Please put "4th Annual Military Families Contest" in the subject line.

Once a week, beginning Memorial Day weekend, I will pick one entrant to be highlighted on my blog. These weekly entrants are semi-finalists. Labor Day weekend I will select three winners.

Second Prize: A $25 Amazon Gift Card, Signed copies of Unleashed and Untouched

First Prize: A $50 Amazon Gift Card, and signed copies of Unleashed and Untouched

Grand Prize: A $100 Amazon Gift card and signed copies of Unleashed and Untouched

  4. I just read Unleashed and Untouched and really really want to read Untamed. The first two books were so good you guys, if you haven't read them...do it. This is a great contest for the military families.

My brother retired from the Army in 2004.
My brother's best friend is in the Army right now, he's been in for 10 years.
My Uncle jack was in the Army for 20 years and was in Vietnam.
My dad was in the Navy before he met my mom.
My grandpa on my mom's side and my uncle on my dad's side were both in the Army before I was born.
I've known a lot of people who have served or are now serving in the Military and know how hard it can be for them and their families.

He just came home last week. I also have another cousin that just is starting his third tour, he is going back to Iraq. I worry about him. He is in the army. He has seen some action.

My father was in the Army but because of his stomach ulcers was discharged on a medical. Have a picture of my Dad in his uniform and it is a color pic but he is so white he looks like he is dead. My Mom said she would take milk to him every day since he could not eat most of the food.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter giveaway.
