All of us watch the lives of the young, rich, and famous play out for us every day in the 24/7 news world we live in. What if you could experience that nightmare and tell the story of how the dreams of others over rule your own heart’s desire, what if everyone sells their soul for a moment of fame, and what if you have no control over the life you want to live.
In
BETWEEN
YOU AND ME by Emma McLaughlin
and Nicola Kraus you are given a front row seat on the trip to
disaster. I was brought to tears on
numerous occasions and wanted scream at other times as the story shows what all
the world wants as opposed to what one person truly needs.
As
a fan of Claude Monet’s I am always moved by how he took the negatives in his
life to make them positives. No one
liked his paintings, they criticized his innovative style, and what he thought
was okay he went with. Life may knock
you around but look for the one shining moment in the day and celebrate a Little Victory.
BETWEEN
YOU AND ME
by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
When
you real life is the circus where do you go for fun?
Living
your life in the spotlight to everyone on the outside always looks glamorous. To the person in the ring of fire it is
anything but a nightmare waiting to happen.
Kelsey feels old at the age of 25 since her life career began as a
child. Her parents control her, the
handlers manipulate her, and the true friends are non-existent.
When
Kelsey is reunited with Logan, a long estranged cousin the life that was barely
hanging on by a thread snaps. Logan
becomes her personal assistant trying to maintain Kelsey’s professional life
and get her some personal space. Logan
thinks the solutions to Kelsey’s problem are love, less work would help out,
and letting Kelsey live her own life. Yet
no one is going to let that happen, as the money train needs to keep moving to
fulfill the dreams everyone is living through Kelsey.
As
the story unfolds and the dark secrets of the past are revealed the small tears
become rips and there is no forgiving life altering mistakes.
The
journey that you are taken on by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus is so realistically
detailed you get the sense of standing in the room as a witness not a
reader. You want to yell at all the
people destroying this life in order to make their own better and at times, the
tears are running down your cheeks as well as Kelsey’s

It's the lack of privacy I would have trouble with, otherwise send it my way.
ReplyDeleteI do not want fame and fortune. I prefer anonymity.
ReplyDeleteI would not want the fame. I enjoy my privacy way too much. I could handle the fortune...just a little fortune. Doesn't have to be a huge fortune, but a little one would be okay with me. :)
ReplyDeleteI would like to think that it is something I could handle but I guess you really don't know until you're put in that position.

ReplyDeleteThis book is probably written around Brittany Spears life ro Lindsay Lohan they are both train wrecks.
All these people whine about how hard their life is when they are throwing money around and buyings houses they don't need and cars they don't drive. I dont wnat to be famous but you should be a role model if you are going to be in the news.

I could handle fame and fortune though if I could help it I would want less fame. I like having my privacy and not being under the public eye all the time. I would always put my family first and handle fame and fortune respectfully.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could handle fame and fortune. I am s stay at home person who prefers to be in the background.
ReplyDeleteI think I could.

DJ in Denver: I like my quiet, under the radar life so no thanks to fame. The money would be nice though.
ReplyDeleteI like to think I would be able to handle fame and fortune but you never know for sure until you live through it.
ReplyDeleteI think I could handle the fortune (with assistance) but fame I don't think I could. I don't want someone following me everywhere and invading my privacy and dogging my family and friends. Thanks for the opportunity to enter giveaway.
