Kat Martin and Against the Sun

When I heard that Kat Martin had a new book coming out I was thrilled.  Then she asked me to promote AGAINST THE SUN and I was honored to be part of anything that gets her on every bestseller list.

Kat is donating one autographed book to a lucky winner that leaves a comment on about “whether you can trust your instincts or do you always follow the facts?”  To win an autographed book from Kat you must come back on Sunday - May 13th to see if you have won and send me an email with you mailing address.

I will be running a contest again in June so if you don't win here you have another chance....

BOOK SUMMARY: It's not in bodyguard Jake Cantrell's job description to share his suspicions with his assignments.  Beautiful executive Sage Dumont may be in charge, but Jake's not on her payroll.  As a former special forces marine, Jake trusts his gut, and it's telling him that there's something off about a shipment arriving at Marine Drilling International.  His instinct is aroused...in more ways than one.

A savvy businesswoman, Sage knows better than to take some hired gun's "hunch" as gospel. And yet she is learning not to underestimate the man her grandfather hired to protect her. Determined to prove Jake wrong, Sage does some digging of her own and turns up deadly details she was never meant to see.

Drawn into a terrifying web of lies and deceit—and into feelings they can't afford to explore—what Jake and Sage uncover may be frighteningly worse than  they ever imagined.

  1. I am a huge fan of Kat's books and especially the Raines Bros series. I love the brothers and their friends. My fav is Johnnie.
I always follow my instincts and am usually right. If I have a bad feeling about someone I am usually right.
This would make an awesome mothers day present. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  2. There are some instances where I'll go with my instincts and sometimes the facts will influence me. I do go with my gut when what I'm feeling is strong.

  3. I would do both: follow my instincts & go with the facts. I would not rely on just one or the other.

  4. I go with my instincts most of the time. But then the other part of the time I go with facts if my instinct in not strong.

  7. I rely on a little bit of both, but given the facts then that is what I depend more on.

  8. I do a little of both depending on the situation.

  9. I also do a little of both. There are times when I think it would have been better if I had just followed my instincts!

  11. Thanks for the giveaway! With people, I go w/ my instincts. I've found that I'm usually right (especially if I don't like them, or get an uneasy feeling around them). If it's a situation where I have to make a decision, I usually try to make an informed decision so I'll try and research the facts as much as I can. Kat is a new to me author (I know, I live under a rock :) ) and I'm going to check out her books right now :)

  14. Hi Y'All! I agree mostly with Erin. I follow my instincts when it comes to people but I rely on facts when I am making a decision. Hope you all enjoy Against the Sun. Very best wishes, Kat

  15. I usually start with the facts and then look to my instincts after that.

  16. I trust my instincts. I worked a job for a little while, and even though "on paper" it looked like a great thing and I had many reasons that I should stay, my gut kept telling me to run. And I went with my gut, and do not regret doing so.

  19. I do both but there have been a few times in my life where my instincts say "Don't Trust him/her" so strong that I did trust my instincts and found out later I was right to have trusted my instincts. This happened 2 times for President's and 1 for man who wanted to be President. Right all three times. Another was a Regional Manager who visited at times and my petty cash was always short, which I had to pay. When they sent him as District Manager, the first day I locked the petty cash box and went to bank to make deposit and post office. When I got back the box was unlocked and cash missing. I turned in my resignation that day and not long after I left they fired him and the new District Manager called me and ask me to come back which I did.
I have read 6 of Kat's books and looking forward to reading the latest in this series. Already have this book and another on my wish list. Thanks for the opportunity to enter giveaway.
