Guest Blogging with Belinda G. Buchanan

Would you keep a secret if it meant saving your marriage?

Nobody wakes up one morning and decides that today is the day they are going to cheat on their spouse.  When the opportunity presents itself however, it becomes a choice.  And that choice, whether good or bad, can have irrevocable consequences.

Jessica Harrington’s life didn’t turn out the way she thought it would.  But she made the choice; one mistake that she wishes she could take back.  The little life stirring inside of her reminds her that the repercussions will be great.  She loves her husband, Ethan, and vows to keep this secret from him at all costs.  Mounting pressures from her friend as well as the baby’s real father make it increasingly difficult.

A series of unfortunate events leads up to Ethan learning the truth, leaving the two of them standing in the carnage; an innocent baby caught in the middle.

So many times we see the immediate results of infidelity in a marriage.  I wanted to write a story that shows the long term effects it has on a relationship as well as the devastating ramifications.  It is above all a book about healing and forgiveness.

Thanks Mary for allowing me to guest post here.

  4. Nice meeting you hear Belinda. I agree that secrets always have a way of coming out and I believe it's even more harmful if we don't own up to them ourselves. Thanks for the post.

  6. Those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. A Dr. Phil quote but I agree with it. Most of the time it's the lies and secrets that cause more harm than the original "mistake."

  7. I think we are all in agreement that the longer a secret keeps, the more damaging it is when it comes out.
