Mary’s Musings...with Stella Cameron and Cynthia Garner

Welcome to Grand Central Publishing’s PARANORMAL BLOG TOUR with DARKNESS BOUND by Stella Camerson as well as KISS OF THE VAMPIRE by Cynthia Garner

For the first time I asked the same question to two authors and the delight in their answers always reminds me of how wonderful it is to be able to ask a question of great authors and have them respond.

Describe your most challenging issue when writing a book?

Cynthia Garner’s response was….Oh, my God! The worst thing that ever happened for me is wifi! I can’t seem to break myself of the habit of checking my email every 5 minutes, even though I know there’s probably not going to be anything there. Unless it’s spam, ’cause I’m just not that popular. LOL But when I start getting closer to deadline, somehow that self-discipline manages to come to the surface and I git ’er done!

Stella Cameron’s thought was… Do I only get one?  Complaining about the large cat who “helps” me with each book might not be helpful.  But a 20lb feline draped across my arms does make it hard to type.  If I allow my natural tendencies out of their box, I tell a story from peak to peak—from high point of tension to high point of tension.  Imagine a roller coaster with a tendency to leap over any dips so that it can keep landing on the most exciting bits way up high.  Just as the roller coaster car tips over to make its downhill swoop there is an “eek” moment, then a “whoosh” that’s usually accompanied by screams of relief—and of anticipation for the next hill.  If there isn’t a break, a downhill slide so you can catch your breath, you’re probably heading for a panic attack.  This is a challenge.  After many books, I know I must be vigilant and make sure my pacing works like a bouncing ball rather than a rocket.

I received a copy of DARKNESS BOUND by Stella Camerson as well as KISS OF THE VAMPIRE by Cynthia Garner from Grand Central Publishing to be given away as part of this Paranormal Blog Tour.  To be eligible to win please leave a comment on  “what is your greatest challenge?” then come back on Sunday – March 4th to see if you have won.  Please remember if you do not come back, you will not know if you won, because I am going to need your address.

As always I wish you happy reading, encourage you to turn a negative into a celebrated Little Victory, come back to see what book I am reviewing and offering up for a giveaway.  Do not forget to cast your positive votes for me on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  Your vote matters and I greatly appreciate my followers!

  5. Patience - or lack thereof - use to be my biggest weakness. I've worked on it and I'm better at it. I think now my biggest one is exercise. I know I need to do it, but just find it so hard to squeeze it in. :(

  6. My greatest challenge is following through with goals. I need to find my inner motivation and keep pushing. That I do but I need to keep at it and not be distracted.

  7. I think right now my greatest challenge is making a dent in my TBR pile. I'm not having much luck, it keeps getting higher and higher. Honestly, I don't have too many challenges in my life right now, things are going fairly well, and I hope it stays that way.

  8. I have to say dealing with people that annoy me. I can get so upset or mad when really all I need to do is take a minute and calm down. Which is what reading really helps me to do.

  9. Right now my greatest challenge is trying to get everything set to sign up on my disability. Well, that and trying to get my TBR piles (both physical and e-books) shrunk down some.

  13. My greatest challenge is to put down the books and do some housework. I read constantly to my husbands consternation. He'd rather I cook dinner or something. Geesh, doesn't he know there are books to be read and not enough time?
I'm following along on this tour because I like these two books.

  14. My greatest challenge is my health. Most mornings I just don't want to get up. I have to think of the good reasons I should get up and pump myself to get up. My second would be to put the book down and go to bed or limit my time reading blogs. lol
    Love Stella's books.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter giveaway.
