Aloha to Roxanne St. Claire and SHIVER OF FEAR

Today is Super Tuesday with several anticipated releases, including Roxanne St. Claire's SHIVER OF FEAR (Book Two of the Guardian Angelinos series).

The legacy that haunts her . . . The mystery she must solve . . . A man who threatens to reveal her secrets . . . and break her heart. Burned by a failed marriage, former FBI agent Marc Rossi wants back in the investigation game with no emotional strings attached. Taking an assignment for his enterprising Angelino cousins, he heads to Northern Ireland to find Devyn Sterling, a widowed socialite and person of interest to the FBI. But when the ice queen he expects to find turns out to be warm, beautiful, and on a secret mission of her own, the job becomes a passionate reminder of what happens when duty and desire mix. The daughter of an infamous fugitive, Devyn Sterling has survived betrayal only to find that her mother has mysteriously disappeared. When her search uncovers secrets, lies, and threats, Devyn and Marc must trust each other when every instinct says they can't . . . and a terrorist wants to make sure they won't live to try.

I invited Marc Rossi to be my guest today.

Kim: Why did you join the FBI and why did you leave it?

Marc: I hate bad guys and I’m kind of protective. Mostly, as the second son of a big Italian family, I like to keep the peace. I left because…long story. (Something about when duty and desire mix…it can get ugly. And it did.) Someone would have to get very close to me to learn the truth and, frankly, I don’t let many people get too close.

Kim: As you headed to Northern Ireland, did you rely on any old contacts to provide intel about its volatility?

Marc: No, nothing like that. I went to Belfast on a simple assignment – to find Devyn Sterling, the widow of the victim on our last case. I expected a chilly rich bitch who I could make comply with my wishes. Man, was I wrong. I found someone warm, beautiful, and, um, not all that compliant. At least, not at first.

Kim: How did you know that you could trust Devyn on this mission?

Marc: I didn’t have a problem with trusting her, but she really wasn’t too keen on me. Dev’s got a long history of betrayal, including her recently murdered husband who really tried to wreck her life and an love-deprived adopted family that never made her feel worthy of their name or money. She’s slow to warm. But once she does…watch out.

Kim: Can you share a funny secret about one of your hot Angelino cousins?

Marc: Sorry, I can’t break a family pact. But I can tell you this…in four weeks, when FACE OF DANGER comes out, the world will know a whole hell of a lot more about Vivi Angelino than they think they know. My skateboard-riding, nose-pierce wearing, risk-taking little cousin has plenty of depth and a lot of secrets…some she never even told her family. The only person who can get them out of her is FBI agent Colt Lang. No surprise, we FBI guys can do anything.

Kim: What's next for your creator, Roxanne St. Claire?

Marc: Vivi’s book is up next on April 26. And then something completely different, I think. Roxanne’s been talking like a teenager, laughing a lot, and whispering about a young adult novel with a film deal attached. But she’s got to write my brother Gabe’s book, right? Can’t leave that bad boy without a happy ending. Watch for it. Kim: You have been well received by reviewers, including Mary Gramlich, The Reading Reviewer. She posted her review of SHIVER OF FEAR on her blog: Do we make ourselves who we are, or do we live out our DNA destiny?

  1. What a great interview! I just love those hot and smokin' Angelinos! EDGE OF SIGHT was fantastic and I am looking forward to reading about the rest of the family.

I consider myself of Hungarian descent, but was very fortunate because my Aunt had married into a huge, gigantic Italian family. We had a mixture of Hungarian and Italian foods at all family gatherings and holidays. My love for food comes honestly.
