Roxanne Whitaker is a whirlwind real estate agent that knows a good piece of property when she sees it and realizes that her neighbor may have a tree in his attic but the house is sturdy. The problem is Sloan Harding has been away from Mossy Bog for 13 years and never planned to return, yet a call from Roxie makes him change his mind and check out the body that goes with that sexy voice.

Sloan was the town bad boy who grew up to be a good man yet everyone in a small town has trouble realizing that. Roxie didn’t know him growing up so the person standing in front of her is stirring up allot of thoughts and all of them are pretty exciting. He may hate this one-horse town but Sloan knows there is nothing more attractive to visit there than Roxie, not even the thought of uncovering his family’s lost fortune. But Sloan has a business to run in Atlanta, a hacker he is trying to find and a dog that needs attention.

Roxie has some other distractions besides Sloan as well which include the warehouse she wants to convert to an historical museum and the person that broken into her house and stole her identity. The thief made a mess in her house but is creating a larger mess in her life by running up credit cards she doesn’t own. If the burglar wanted to scare her they did a good job of it but now that Sloan and his dog Max are spending more time in town than away from it she is feeling safer physically but less so emotionally.

Their kisses are steamy, the nights on fire and the time they spend together explosive so what is holding these two apart – family history yes but the fear of loss seems to be an even bigger factor, or is it? But when Sloan comes to the conclusion that someone is truly after Roxie and wants her gone permanently every protective gene in his body goes on high alert and it is more his feelings about her that make him want to fix this than just being neighborly.

Great book, wonderful mystery and a red hot love story underlying it. Roxie and Sloan really mix is up in and out of the bedroom and that is what makes for a great romance. You can’t ask for more than that now can you?
